Show LUT for dailies, who owns it, DIT or colourist?

The DIT built a look on set, the colourist wants to start from scratch, the director already fell in love with the dailies. How do you set that handover up so nobody rebuilds the same look twice?

Colourist builds the show LUT before the shoot, DIT applies it and reports drift daily. The director then falls in love with something the grade can actually reach.

Ship the CDL values with the dailies. That one text file has saved more looks than any conversation about who owns the LUT.
